Whernside 736m - the 2nd or middle peak

Whernside is the highest point in North Yorkshire and the summit lies on the border with Cumbria. In shape Whernside forms a long ridge, running roughly north-south. Your route whilst on the challenge will see you pass through the famous Ribblehead viaduct to Brunscar and then ascend steadily towards the summit via High Pike, a shallow ridge south of the summit itself. At 2416ft it is always hoped that good clear weather will be the order of the day to allow the magical views that can be gained from this wonderful elevated position!
