Kayaking in winter on Derwentwater |
About 3 Challenges First and foremost we have the utmost regard for our natural environment. We care about environmental issues worldwide and the well-being of the planet and it's people. Throughout our operations our main concern after our clients safety is the'environmental impact' and this is a fundamental factor in all our operations. As a company based in Cumbria and operating 90% of the time in the Lake District we see first hand the impact people can have on fragile environments. |

Sustainability: If you are looking for a mass market business that can take coach loads of people into the mountains at all times of the day and night with total disregard to local communities then you have come to the wrong place! In fact we suggest you question the morals and ethics of any company who does so and consider the implictions of such a set up. It would appear that numerous companies justify their high impact, huge volume operations in the name of charity!! In our opinion this approach is simply not acceptable. Whilst we accept charities do require money to operate and provide fantastic services to a wide range of desperate people and animals it should not be at the expense of the outdoor environments. The 3 Peaks as an example is becoming a frowned upon challenge certainly in the Lake District as it is generally run in a manner that doesn't consider a number of factors. Our approach is somewhat different - |

We have developed an ethical business which places the 'Environment First' and this is reflected throughout the way we operate. Operating with small groups at any one time(8 people) who are always guided by expert, highly qualified outdoor instructors at all times who are passionate about the outdoors. By doing this we massivley reduce path damage, prevent any litter being dropped and without any doubt prevent the local rescue teams being called out due to lost and injured walkers. Incidentally 3 of our instructors are members of 2 differnt Lake District teams. We are a highly motivated dedicated and specialist company who is passionate about the outdoors and our business is geared around sustainable growth without compromising our policies. 3 Challenges provide an exciting range of professionally supported challenges for individuals and groups who do not wish to follow the crowd and leave their mark! |
